2026 World Cup Guide: Dallas

Return to Matador Network’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Travel Guide.

Dallas is among the biggest players at the 2026 World Cup. This is fitting, as the National Soccer Hall of Fame is located here at Toyota Stadium, home to FC Dallas. No city in America has a better collection of sports bars and dedicated fans, not to mention that famous barbecue. The city will host nine matches — more than any other US host — at the iconic AT&T Stadium (rebranded as Dallas Stadium for the tournament), which is undergoing a $295 million transformation to become a global soccer hub with state-of-the-art upgrades and a capacity for over 92,000 spectators. The area will buzz with fan zones, festivals, viewing parties, and the International Broadcast Centre at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, drawing international media and fans from around the globe.

Regardless of where you stay, head to Deep Ellum for the food, the music, and the party atmosphere. The FIFA Fan Festival will take place at Fair Park, home to the State Fair of Texas, not far from Deep Ellum and Downtown Dallas. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is a major international hub, making the city easy to reach. And though it’s a massive metroplex, public transit is available and offers an efficient way to get to and from matches.

Venue: AT&T Stadium

Capacity: 92,000

To reach AT&T Stadium from downtown Dallas, several options are available. The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) operates between Dallas Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. From CentrePort, on game days and during major events, fans can use rideshare services or special shuttles to get to the stadium in Arlington. Note that TRE does not operate on Sundays, so alternative transportation should be arranged for Sunday events.

Alternatively, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft provide direct transportation from downtown Dallas to AT&T Stadium, typically taking around 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic. Designated rideshare pickup and drop-off zones are clearly marked near the stadium.
